This Merlot Needs You!

Dark plum ruby purple of colour. Vibrant jammy fruits with layers of plums, cherries and blackberry. hints of cigar box and cinnamon spice. The ripe red fruits flow onto the palette complimented by a soft tannin structure and a slight sweet finish. Medium bodied easy drinking style red wine.

Technical Notes

On this wine we work closely with suppliers in the Western Cape area which were identified as excellent growing areas for Merlot. The grapes were all hand harvested early in the morning. The grapes were destemmed and the whole berries were fermented in stainless steel tanks. Pump overs were done on a regular basis to ensure good extraction of flavors and color. Fermentation took about 14 days at 24 °C before the tanks were then pressed. Having been subject to malolactic fermentation the wines were blended and tank matured for 8 months before bottled.
