Winemaker

Michael Dawson is a product of Durban, but was more than happy to make the move to Stellenbosch to pursue his passion for winemaking. Upon qualifying from Elsenburg Agricultural Institute as Dux student in Cellar Technology in 2014, he began working the 2015 harvest at Steenberg Vineyards in the Constantia valley. He was lucky enough to be awarded a trip to Chile and Argentina midway through 2015 where he was able to explore the vastly differing climatic influences on South American viticulture, which was translated into their winemaking. Mike has always been a fan of big, bold stylized white wines, which is why his favourite wine from the Journey’s End range is the Destination Chardonnay.
