• In January 2014 the Journeys End winery became only the second in South Africa to be converted to solar energy with a 50kwp solar PV installation
• We are members of the Biodiversity Wine Initiative and accredited with BWI. 10 ha of the farm have been put down to the conservation and protection of our natural habitat.
• We are accredited also with IPW – an environmental sustainability scheme that complies with international environmental sustainability criteria.
• We work with cover crops such as lupins and barley to naturally correct and improve our soil structures across our farm
• We have several pairs of spotted eagle owls nesting on the farm as a result of the many owl boxes we have positioned in the vineyards. These help us keep any rodents at bay.

In March 2015 Journeys End began an appraisal on biodynamic farming practices and composting.
