JE Spekboom Sauv B Sains 23

Spekboom Sauvignon Blanc

Intensely aromatic and complex Sauvignon Blanc. The nose showcases lovely layers of aromatics like citrus, grapefruit, hints of apple and blackcurrant. The aromatic from the nose continues through onto the palette and the fresh lively acidity contributes to a lively balanced finish.

Technical Notes

The grapes in the Spekboom Sauvignon Blanc are grown under optimal conditions and the vineyards are sustainably farmed. The vineyards are in the Coastal Region of the Cape’s wine region. The vineyards are subject to cooling mists that roll in from the Atlantic Ocean. The combination of excellent soil, varying aspect, slopes and the high rainfall of 700mm to 1100mm per year all contribute to the uniqueness of this Sauvignon Blanc. The vineyards are carefully nurtured and sustainably farmed. The cool nights and cool South-westerly wind in the afternoons cool the vineyards down and helps to form the elegant fruit flavours. Soil types consist of weathered granite to deep red and well drained soils.
